electric control panel - options, upgrades and power requirements
All of our full electric brewing systems include a standard PID type control panel in the base price. These panels include temperature control and digital readouts for the included kettles. All stock panels are built with heavy duty stainless steel enclosures and include pump switches, process timer and programmable temperature alarms as standard equipment. We offer many available options to upgrade your control system including increased amperage, semi-automation, UL/cUL listings and more. Here are basic descriptions of common upgrades followed by specifics and power requirements for each system:
50 amp (Fusion series) or 100 amp (Alpha Ruby series) double batching Panel Upgrades - These upgrade options double the amperage of the standard panel allowing you to heat your HLT and Boil Kettles simultaneously at 100% power. This mean you can quickly reheat the HLT to mash in a second batch while boiling your first batch. Double batching panels can also make a single batch brew day go faster as you can heat strike water in the boil kettle while simultaneously heating the HLT. This reduces the amount of time needed to mash in. We almost always recommend this option if you have the utilities available to support the additional amperage. Please note that Ruby Pro systems include double batching panels as standard equipment.
UL/cUL Listing Upgrades - A listed panel may be required for commercial installations in some US locations and is required for all Canadian installations. The functions of the UL/cUL listed panels are nearly identical to the stock system control panels. These panels include all UL listed components are assembled in a UL certified shop. The UL/cUL panels are hard wired controllers that must be installed by licensed electrician. Non UL panels all include plug type power cords that plug in.
7” Touchscreen Panel Upgrades – You can upgrade your brewery control panel with a 7” touchscreen HMI/PLC controller with WiFi. This advanced control system offers many features including the ability to store recipes, automated step mashes, boil addition reminders, data logging with SD card export, several built in brew day calculators and more. The built in WiFi access allows you to control and monitor your brewing system from any Android or iOS mobile device. Click here for more information on touchscreen control systems
